And so she always remained unfinished . . . . .

lost the original file (computer crashed last year :/)

one day I want to go back to her.

Oh no, these are bad news! :omfg: I am sorry for that! Hope you can recreate her one day!!!

I always liked orange and purple together, I think they play off each other well. Your characters have such interesting shapes and movement, they intertwine with your vivid colors, making your images flow smoothly.

Cool artwork, very interesting look.

This could be a very dumb idea, but if you wanted, maybe you could add to the feel of her royal highness, as she strolls through her checkered courtyard, by making some pawns, rooks, bishops, etc. bowing and quivering at her feet. Maybe even make the pieces be from both colors to show just how powerful the lady queen is. If you do use this idea, let me know. :)

heh. you're not the only one to suggest more of a chess theme.

which is where i was thinking to go if i ever went back to it.
ikkko Featured By Owner Sep 21, 2005
it's really cool, i think!!! you could let the bg like this, it makes your character seems more important, and i just love your colors!!!

cool.......I can sense the movement of the queen....... you can almost see her dress moving :D ;)

This is wonderful, wonderful work. I love things that are inspired by alice and wonderland..or so I assume. It's beautiful and elegant, keep it up, don't ever ever stop!

I liked seeing this piece in progress, and I don't know if it's finished or not, but as it is, I kinda like the ephemeral feeling one gets by being able to see through the main figure.

From "Alice and Wonderland"? Or is it "Through the Looking Glass"? Either way, it's great.

mike1966 Featured By Owner Apr 27, 2005
I love the perspective.
I love the palette.
I love the pose.

I love what's going on in the background, please don't change a thing. The dainty size of the mask on such a ginormous character is perfect. It looks like a weatherbeaten heat storm.

shadowgirl Featured By Owner Apr 27, 2005  Professional Traditional Artist
well.. only thing i would change is uh.. finishing it :)

thanks for the comment ^^

tip: work on her dress a little bit... it dosen't actually fit the whole work... It looks... squashed... A bit of shadowy effect and should solve it all...
shadowgirl Featured By Owner Sep 19, 2004  Professional Traditional Artist
heh. i probably won't.. i haven't touched this drawing in months :)

i am always so wonderin the young imaginations of my grandma.
what did she felt, what was her position and who was her also.
i think i have found the key image.
"red queen" is my "lost times of my grandma that i can't know who she was"
Cuiyu Featured By Owner Jul 12, 2004
Don't do a background! It's perfect as it is!

This piece is so pure, I like the colors and her pose....background...mmh...
 what about flames? feathers? or a throne for the queen?!
oh..okay...sorry. ;)
melora Featured By Owner Feb 3, 2004
I think that some pillars or something would be cool.... Some vertical shapes, maybe a bit like her walking stick? This is turning into an entirtely awesome painting
ickamicka Featured By Owner Feb 2, 2004
Wow, thats pretty. I like when everything in the picture melts together. Like her skirt with the floor. :)
krazykrista Featured By Owner Feb 1, 2004
You and your craaaaazy style. :D Looks cool, as usual!
I must say...I'm not sure how I feel about the dress and how it relates with the checkerboard underneath, as it seems like the flattest part of the pic.
As for the background, I think some towering mountains or palaces would be neat...especially if they're barely visible through the clouds.
Neat stuff!
cntmplatngyllw Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2004
its kind of cool how it fades into nothing. might want to keep it that way. anywho the rest of the picture is lovely as well
fangedfem Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2004
Oh just splendid! Love the orange and the details are so intricate and wonderful =)

The background is perfect...I love the skewed horizon and landscape. Checkers are wonderful.
thomasxarcane Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2004
I like it this way... Maybe would you see some object at the left... could be place more or less far... I'd see such an object... something abstract maybe with shapes similar to the cane the character's holding (maybe something that recalls those old coat hooks?). This is getting a beautiful and awesome piece.
LRRHood Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2004
I love your color scheme... although it looks orange now, you could just add a touch of true bright red here and there. Just my thoughts... "Red hair" isn't usually "red", eh?

Great work!
