Artist's Comments

he is my trickster. the one that lures small children to do as he pleases, usually gobbling them up when he is bored with causing them to be lost within his woods. There is the beconing of a key. Is there a treasure inside? Come in! Come in! Or you will never find out, now will you?

acrylic and gouache and a lot of water.
about 12x16 on heavy watercolor paper
really cruddy old version: [link]
nothing worked in that one at all, so I scrapped it (too stiff, too bright, and I had no plans in my head for designs of his robes.)

Beautiful face :D I love this.
Maybe I've been reading too much Charles de Lint lately, but your latest stuff seems right out of his world.
Excellent work.

pretty much the same thing as watercolors.. i don't know the 'traditional/typical' watercolor way, i just drop paint and water on the paper and hope for the best :D that's how i get all those jagged edged splots

some of the edge is missing, but not much.. but the only problem with filling the paper that much is I really can't matt it or i'll loose some of the painted surface :x

Compelling.
And I love the use of lines, they act as a frame in the picture.

Love it when I find someone new I like that has a lot of books out - I don't have to wait for the next one :D

I really like the key.

I can't see anything missing. Yeah, matting would be a problem, but unnecessary depending on the frame.
