tea (Darjeeling tea), Japanese Sumo Ink (I swear this bottle is like 10 years old, finally almost empty!), and gold gouache. Let this sit for a while because I couldn't figure out how to lighten her up. Darjeeling tea stains dark very quickly, not light like some of the other's I've used, but I'm not fond of the flavor so it's been reduced to stain tea. I'll just have to keep remembering to hold off on the third 'coating'.

Laura,
The dark staining lends a vaguely sinister feel to the painting, as if I am not at all happy that she has paused in the grass and turned back to look at me.

good golly miss molly, all of you're art is so original, i'm basically baffled at how you can achieve such interesting textures.
And especially how all of your subject matter is basically your own style, and not a copy of anothers, It's always original. i love it.

I enjoy the fact that it's darker than some of your other work...the stark contrast between the brown/black and the gold looks very nice.

She glows with her own light. This is beautiful and I agree, haunting. The texture makes me think of paperbark trees, its fantastic.
