Inspired by George RR Martin's descriptions of the trees in holy areas through out the lands (His Fire and Ice series)

There was an ancient race of people called "Children of the Forest" and they would carve faces into a particular kind of tree. White bark and red leaves. Only a few remain standing below the Wall in the north, and they are considered areas for people who still believe in the old gods to go and reflect in peace and quiet.

This is about 9x11, all pencil. took about 10 hours over a few days (my eyes are bad, I can't work that much detail in one sitting)... working in so much detail is very relaxing, you sort of zone out
