A few years ago, my husband posted that we'd decided to finally have a kid (we've been together since 1999, married since 2007). His side of the family fell for it, my side started to help by sharing videos of baby goats frolicking around. This year, we started to build up that we really WERE going to get a GOAT, and began posting info about farms in the area, etc, and some of our friends fell for it, trying to convince us that goats are a lot of work and we really should just settle for something like a dog.
On April 1st, I posted an ultrasound of a baby.
People were confused.
Was the joke that I was pregnant, or the joke that we were getting a goat? Everyone knew I was never one to have a child.
Even further along in May, when we said our kid is going to be a girl... a few people messaged me saying they thought it was an April Fools joke and was I really serious?
...In September (on Jim Henson's birthday, and my doctor's birthday), we had a baby.
So naturally I had to paint our new goat family.
